"I want to be a Policeman."

I know people tremble whenever they see policemen, I think the police officers wield enormous power.The bus conductors drop 'offerings' to them,Traffic offenders plead with them, parting away with few naira notes. I swear I love it.Police is your friend, yet people don't like to associate with them.

 I will like to be a Policeman, I may not have to survive on my salary...I should be able to survive on money I will get from extortion.I will not steal, stealing is now corruption.

 As a Policeman; I will drink Beer with Pepper soup at Bars without paying,I will enter public vehicles without offering transport fare because I will be considered 'a staff.'I will break traffic rule with my police car lights flashing and siren blaring.I will stop and search anybody's wallet without producing search warrant, then accuse and arrest those that my instinct condemn.

 I will work hand in hand with the politicians, dine with the kings and queen. And in no time, develop a pot belly.

 Due to my diligence at my policing work,

"I will sit with the Kings and not obscure men."

As this reminds me of the ancient Yoruba folklore that my grandmother told me about Ìjàpá the husband of Yáníbo. She said, "Yáníbo couldn't conceive, and because of the great importance attached to procreation, Ìjàpá and Yáníbo were greatly disturbed." I know that even till today in our society, women are mostly blamed for not being able to conceive. A very wrong assumption, men are mostly the cause for this anomaly. Granny explained that Ìjàpá consulted a herbalist (Babaláwo) as suggested by his wife, and the man gave him the concoction he had asked his wife Yáníbo to come and collect earlier.
