"I'm really worried about the educational standard in the city. It's declining faster than the usage of manual cars.

For instance, all the teachers in my son's school are not trained teachers. They're just frustrated graduates who couldn't secure their desired jobs.
Unfortunately, these pseudo-teachers never bothered to invest in becoming proper teachers.

This system of acquiring untrained teachers into the teaching profession is like handing over guns and ammunition to macho-brawns cos they looked fit for war.

Seriously, I smell educational disaster."

    This has been the case for long. Remember there was a time when people don't do well in JAMB, they go for NCE. They manage in school and become garbage teachers.

    Though a lot of them end up catching up and even do their degrees and masters, now what about those that never catch up

    The government got it all wrong there.

    When the noticed that people don't want to go for teaching, they lowered the entrance requirements to study education.

    And that's how incompetent students are able to head to NCE.

    But government was wrong, instead of looking into why people don't want to study education, they further destroyed it.

    People opt out of education because they felt it's not gonna be too rewarding. Unlike medical doctors that get better pays, educators get crumbs.

    And until this is addressed, the problem will persist.

      Even with the continued decline, government isn't looking into why the disaster persists.

      Government have never cared. Those in government wants to rule forever without challenges from the masses.

      The only weapon they can use is to make the masses uneducated so that their reasoning faculty will be destroyed.

      The politicians don't send their wards to school here, they send them abroad.

    No solution in sight soon, our public schools are nothing to write about.
